Most Fundable Company Winners RRTC Achieves Gold Listing
RRTC, Inc. Named Most Fundable Company by Pepperdine Graziadio Business School
December 1, 2020, Belle Mead, NJ – RRTC, Inc. is thrilled to announce that it was awarded a Gold designation on the Pepperdine Graziadio Business School’s third annual Most Fundable Companies® List. RRTC competed against over 4,500 early-stage U.S. startups spanning all 50 states, all with less than $10 million in annual revenue to be named among a list of twenty. The Most Fundable Companies initiative is designed to educate founders on the investor diligence process and recognize exceptional entrepreneurs who are solving today’s problems with inventive solutions and are also seeking investment capital to fuel their company's growth.
RRTC is an advanced composite materials business. The company is based on Low Temperature Solidification (LTS) technology invented by the founder and CEO, Richard Riman and the Riman Research Group at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Richard Riman is also a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Rutgers–New Brunswick (@RutgersResearch, #RutgersResearch).
LTS technology enables the production of novel, new advanced ceramic composites which are combinations of ceramics, metals and polymers. In addition to producing unique materials with customizable properties, the process uses low-cost minerals as raw materials, requires significantly less energy inputs for processing. The process reacts these minerals with carbon dioxide to form dense ceramic structures without the need for high temperature sintering used in traditional ceramics processing. The LTS process consumes carbon dioxide giving it a negative carbon footprint. In other words, it actually reduces greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
This platform technology is protected by a global patent portfolio covering over 200 chemistries including the manufacturing processes, compositions of matter and specific applications. These patents are assigned to Rutgers University and exclusively licensed to RRTC for a wide variety of applications. LTS is poised to revolutionize the world of advanced composite materials and in the process make the world a greener, better place.
“Since starting RRTC in 2010, we’ve been focused on expanding the technology base, generating intellectual property and partnering with industry leading global companies to develop and commercialize new products enabled by LTS technology. The Most Fundable Companies initiative provided us with a data-driven analysis that has enhanced our company strategy and has already been incorporated into our fundraising activities,” said Daniel McMullen, Vice President Business Development. “We are very honored to be a member of this elite group of companies selected as winners by the Pepperdine Graziadio Business School. Participation in the competition has played a key role in refining our business strategy and our approach to engaging with the venture capital community.”
The Most Fundable Companies initiative involved a multi-phase assessment that evaluated several company variables including financial projections, market opportunity, intellectual property and the strength of the management team, all of which were used to produce a fundability score. The Pepperdine Most Fundable Companies were evaluated and selected based on their readiness for private investment. Most Fundable Companies is powered by The Venture Alliance.
As a winner on the Most Fundable Companies List, RRTC was profiled on Entrepreneur.com and featured in the December print issue of the magazine. For a complete list of the winners, visit www.pepperdine.edu/mfc-list.
